That was fun! I wonder if he shaped the stick in the form of a bat in order to try to appeal to US sensibilities?

Of course if he'd been a US designer, the safe bedside table would have been at least twice as big and the top would have been a one inch thick kevlar shield and the leg would have been a heavy machine gun. The base or foot would have been the ammo pack. The whole thing would have come together with powered hydraulics and incorporated nightlights, a small slot for bedside reading material and a laser targeting system.
